India’s research and innovation landscape is picking up serious pace, fueled by initiatives like One Nation One Subscription and the ongoing support of organisations such as ANRF India. In a major boost, the Union Cabinet has also just approved the landmark Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme, with a substantial corpus of INR 1lakh crore. This landmark scheme is set to provide long-term, affordable financing to the private sector, encouraging bold R&D, supporting high-impact technology projects, and facilitating the creation of a Deep-Tech Fund of Funds. As Prof. A. K. Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, recently highlighted, these efforts are laying the groundwork for transformative outcomes that will put India at the forefront of global innovation.
